Mysticism of pomegranate

Pomegranate has been traditionally used for thousands of years as a medicinal fruit. It is believed that it was one of the first cultivated fruits because of its undeniably favorable impact on human health.

Pomegranate was sacred fruit for many of the world’s major religions and nations. In the Quran, pomegranate has been described as a paradise fruit and as a symbol of life everlasting in Christian art. It was also a symbol of invincibility in battle by the Persians. Esfandiari, one of the most powerful mythical heroes ate it to gain great strength before battles. There are even some theories that claim that it was not the apple, but pomegranate that was the original fruit on the Tree of Life in Garden of Eden.

While we’ll never know whether these stories are true or not, scientific research has very precisely proven all the benefits we can have from the use of pomegranate both as food and as oil in cosmetic formulas:

  • pomegranate oil is powerful antioxidant
  • it consisting of phospholipids, sterols, fat-soluble vitamins, and phenols
  • it is good for boosting collagen production, enhancing skin elasticity, reducing the appearance of scarring
  • it efficiently promotes the healing of damaged skin

This oil also leaves lasting moisture without leaving a greasy residue or clogging pores.
